The Role
As an HGV Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of goods, ensuring deliveries are completed on time and in line with customer expectations. The role involves operating company vehicles professionally while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out collections and deliveries in line with daily schedules
- Ensure all loads are secured correctly and transported safely
- Complete vehicle checks before and after each shift, reporting any issues
- Comply with all road transport regulations, including driver hours and tachograph rules
- Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and records
- Communicate effectively with the transport office regarding schedules and any delays
- Provide a professional and courteous service when interacting with customers
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds a valid HGV Class 1 licence
- Driver CPC qualified with a valid digital tachograph card
- Previous experience in a transport or distribution role
- Good knowledge of UK road networks and transport regulations
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Flexible approach to working hours when required
- Professional attitude with strong awareness of safety and responsibility
